So Much to Do

I am writing this from my iPod as I prepare to leave for a couple of days. There is a whole lot going on at FP. It is hard to work on premade skins with so many customs going on but we will eventually get to them.

The new site is coming along well. It is a slow process but it is shaping up the way I imagined, so that’s good.

On a more negative note, I can’t stress enough that when you download our skins, don’t remove the copyright. It is illegal, and you make yourself look bad. Not only are you trying to take credit for someone elses hard work, you stoop to a really low level showing how “bad ass” you are that you can take something you didn’t make and call it yours. Real smooth. And don’t use excuses like “but I edited everything including images and css!” well good for you, but copyright has to stay. When you download the skin, you agree to these terms. If you want to make your own skin, use the default as the base, not ours. K?

On Vacation

As much as I would like to enjoy vacationing, some people just don’t get that I am not working, and continue to attack me with questions and orders. If you are waiting on a custom skin, you will get it for sure, I just can’t do it while I’m away. That is just something we will both have to live with. Kay? Now that all that jibberish is out of the way, it is HOT down south. Florida is beautiful, and the southern hospitality is great. Disney World is very over the top, as expected, and a bunch of fun.

Addressing Some Issues

First off, I want to get some things cleared up. I am getting wayyyy too many people asking about IPBFree and InvisionFree. I’ve said this more than I should have to explain it. IP.Board 2.2/2.3 skins are not compatible with IPBFree or InvisionFree, or any other forum. Don’t buy a skin, or download one, thinking it would work. It won’t, and there are no refunds on intangible products, so make smart choices.

In other news. We have 2 skins for sure that will be available on release day for IPB3. We are currently making them for the IPS skin contest, but from the looks of things, we don’t stand much of a chance, so they will be released for free.

Skin Conversions: IPB2 skins CANNOT be converted into IPB3 skins. It is not that easy. The coding is very different. If custom skin owners would like their skins converted to IPB3, they will need to be completely reskinned. The price will not be as high as the initial purchase, but it won’t be free either. It is just like building a new skin from scratch, sometimes even harder.

Hope that clears things up for now. Oh, and no, we don’t give away custom skins for free. This is a business, and we need to make money to survive. Otherwise, we end up living in a box at the expense of your free skin. Then there will be no more FP skins. And we don’t want that happening, do we?

If you illegally obtained an IP .Board, you are not welcome. Buy a license already. Stop crying that I am “mean” because I didn’t let you register. If you break the law, you pay.

Spam Attack on A Lot of IP .Boards

So, some people may be wondering why admin validation is required for new users who join Final Prestige.

Apparently, some sort of Russian bot (possibly human) attack invaded a lot of IP .Boards, and I mean hundreds (possibly thousands), for reasons no one knows why, but IPS released a fix that doesn’t fix the problem. So for the time being, all new users must go through validation by me. I spent all day cleaning the board of bots with porn in their signatures and email addresses to keep Final Prestige bot-free. I will post updates on the situation soon.

Good Riddance PunBB

For a while now, I have been debating whether or not to stop selling PunBB skins, and today I decided I am through with it. First of all, I don’t get why anyone would use that forum software. You can’t do anything with it, I can skin it in less than 5 minutes, and there is a LOT of better free software out there. So today I am announcing that Final Prestige will no longer support PunBB. It is obvious that it is the worst forum software there is. Period.
